I was commissioned by ITV, one of the UK's main television broadcasters, to illustrate a series of three short comic strips as part of their social media campaign on Facebook and Twitter to promote the return of Ant & Dec's prime time TV show Saturday Night Takeaway. The superhero themed campaign took its inspiration from the 1960's Batman TV series and featured Ant and Dec as a dynamic duo saving Saturday night television from an erstwhile villain called 'Winter Blues'. The comic strips complemented ITV's on air and internet video promotional activities.
The three strips I drew were originally scripted to run seamlessly as one story thread over successive weekends before the series returned, but with subsequent changes to the story, the third strip ended up being a separate final segment in itself.
Below are the three strips stitched together into one comic page as I had originally designed. And below that, you can check out how they finally looked on the facebook and twitter feeds.
